The Connacht Indoor T&F Championships take place on the weekend of 22nd / 23rd February

These championships are open to all athletes in the U12 and over age groups.  U12 and U13 will compete on Saturday 22nd Feb and U14 – U19 on Sunday 23rd Feb.  There will also be a Senior and Masters competition on the evening of Saturday 22nd.  All competitions will take place in Athlone Indoor Arena.

Athletes are permitted to do 3 individual events and a relay.  We will put forward relay teams based on enough people in each age group registering to compete.

For U12 and U13 the events are: 60m, 60m Hurdles, 600m, Long Jump, High Jump, Shot Put and Relay.  There will also be a walk event on Sunday for U13 athletes.

For other age groups:

U14: 60m, 60m Hurdles, 800m, Long Jump, High Jump, Shot Put, Relay, Walk

U15: 60m, 60m Hurdles, 800m, Long Jump, High Jump, Shot Put, Relay, Walk, Pole Vault

U16: 60m, 60m Hurdles, 200m, 800m, 1500m, Long Jump, High Jump, Shot Put, Relay, Walk, Pole Vault

U17: 60m, 60m Hurdles, 200m, 800m, 1500m, Long Jump, High Jump, Shot Put, Relay, Walk, Pole Vault

U18: 60m, 60m Hurdles, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, Long Jump, High Jump, Shot Put, Relay, Walk, Pole Vault, Triple Jump

U19: 60m, 60m Hurdles, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, Long Jump, High Jump, Shot Put, Relay, Walk, Pole Vault, Triple Jump

Age groups for 2020: 

U12 – born 2009

U13 – born 2008

U14 – born 2007

Athenry AC athletes wishing to compete in these championships should send an email to iain@aacjuvenile.com BEFORE Friday 14th February so you can be registered for the competition.  It will not be possible to register any athletes after this time.  All athletes will need to be registered with Athletics Ireland before we will accept your entry to the competition so if you have not paid your club registration for 2020 you need to do this as soon as possible.

These championships serve as the qualifiers for the All Ireland T&F Championships which will be held on 28th/29th March and 4th April in AIT.  The top 4 from each event (top 3 from 600m and 800m) will be put forward for the National finals.

Athenry AC coaching staff reserve the right to refuse to enter an athlete if we feel they are not technically competent in the particular event (this for safety of athlete)
